Question by Leon P: Which GPS will record the route I drive today and allow someone to repeat the same route tomorrow?
Recording multiple routes and the ability to view them on the GPS, or computer, would make it more useful. Recording each stop and the time stopped is also desirable. Is there such a device?

while a route planning/saving feature is standard for almost all the good quality gps systems now, what really needed is some advanced features like route planning, preloaded maps, traffic alerts, shortest & fastest route difference

so whichever you buy, you should at first see if your gps supports these basic features now.i use Garmin nüvi 760 Bluetooth GPS Automobile Navigator, which is good enough for me, although you can find the one to suit you.

Is there a GPS Navigation device that works in DOWNTOWN Chicago surrounded by skyscrapers?

I have tried several GPS units and they all seem to lose connection when I get in between the large buildings in downtown Chicago so I was wondering if there is some sort of special device that will work in this situation?

Price is not an issue.

you need a SENSITIVE receiver. Cell phones and car units do not have the sensitivity to receive in deep canyons.

The Motorola SiRF3 is the GPS “engine” that you need.

Many get the stuff off-lease … Buy at an auction, or they know “someone.” There is a section for buying on eBay in lots. I do not remember the address, but there is a surplus auction website (it’s free – not sucked into a scam), where they sell such things – pallets of used computers, cabinets, cars, troop carrier transports, etc. Add your own answer in the comments!

I have a trouble receiving a satellite connection to my GPS.
I installed the software into my new GPS device(Garmin Streetpilot i3) but my location is a factory installed location.It has not changed a bit.

Question by Ann: What is the best hand held GPS for sailing available at a reasonable cost?
I have a small 27 ft sailboat that I love and I am a newbie at sailing. I would like a great, all around, inexpensive but durable hand held gps. I see a lot out there, but many are very fancy and I am not technologically inclined. Any thoughts?

Garmin units are really hard to beat. They have several units that are waterproof and float. They are one of the best companies to get, reliable, easy to use as well. Thats just my opinion, I use a handheld in the car and have panel mounted units in a plane. They just work.
