New cell phone inspired by Porsche

The Vertu Ascent Motorsport cell phone retails for hefty $5,700, but, then it can survive being run over by a Porsche — its inspiration.

The Vertu — measuring 4.25 inches long and 1.69 inches wide was designed based on Formula One Porsche race cars.

“The Liquidmetal casing of the phone makes it so durable, it can even withstand being run over by the very F1 Porsche the design was inspired from,” said a statement by the cell phone company.

This liquidmetal is supposed to make it twice as tough as stainless steel. I suppose this means you should not opt for the insurance to protect against breakage. Of course the theft option may be worth it.

It does supply a unique service 24-hour, seven-day-a-week international concierge service that can do almost anything from making restaurant reservations to ordering a massage.
