Question by Mikey: Is there golf gps capability for blackberry pearl cell phones?
My fiance has a blackberry pearl cell phone and t mobile is his carrier. He wants Golf GPS and heard that it could be hooked up into the cell phone. I was wondering if anyone knows about the whole Golf gps and if there’s software or something that could be compatible with the cell phone.

I don’t think there is for the pearl, i know hp has a phone that does this in korea. I’m looking now and will let you know what i find out. i have a pearl too, so let me know if you see anything.

I’d recommend a Garmin-they’ve got a proven track record and they’re easy to use. You can usually find one or two different models at Target or Wal-Mart for under 300. Magellin is another great brand, I’m not sure where you can find them however.

Question by Andrea O: What is the best brand of GPS for Hawaii?
I have had three different Garmins and all of them have performed poorly, either with directions of with random glitches. The last one I paid the most for since it has a 3-D view and lane assist- neither feature works. I just want a no frills gps that will help me navigate around Oahu. Lane assist would be nice if it actually works.

GPS are basically useless on Oahu, and any island in Hawaii for that matter. They are not programmed correctly and you need to keep you eyes on the road (especially on Oahu) and not on a GPS. You have people here from all over the world, all lost, and some not even used to driving on the correct side of the road. Get a map, plot your course, and if you get lost, pull over and look at it. It is a small island. A GPS is not necessary and is actually dangerous here. Lane assist? Come on, didn’t you learn that in driver’s training?

Question by Brett W: Can anyone provide me with some GPS coordinates or locations for Santa Barbara salt water fishing?
Im taking out my brother’s 42′ boat this weekend out of Santa Barbara harbor and I need to know some good spots. Looking for Halibut but at this point I’m down for anything. If you have GPS coordinates for any bottom structures, or just a hot spot that has proven itself, I would be INCREDIBLY grateful to you. Any tips would be appreciated, and thanks.

santa barbara, ca? possibly… i believe my dad knows that area fairly well, he should, he’s been fishing the ventura and santa barbara area my entire life and then some…
he sez:
west end of santa cruz,
sandy areas around santa rosa esp. the sandspit,
yellow bank, s cruz,
chinese harbor, smugglers, s cruz,
some sandy, gravelley coves, far side s cruz,
the entire sb county coastline. he says he has gotten some decent ones off the cemetery just below the pier.
take us with you. we’ll show you exactly where we have gotten them in the past although, it’s been a while. it’s just too expensive any more to go out on the sport boats.
live squid, anchovies, ‘dines, even white croaker (tom cod/ronkies) and queenfish (seatrout).
