Question by Verve: What technology or electronics could you do without in a recession?
Since economic times are getting more difficult, what electronics or technology would you eliminate to save money? For example, cutting back on cellphone use, cable service, satellite radio, video games, internet usage, etc. Give a brief reason why you picked that item.

Already got rid of cable, saves us about a month and it’s just a waste of time anyway.

I could stop using I-Tunes too, but I have so many gift cards from Christmas. After those run out I’m done buying new music, radio is good enough to get me by.

Question by MyBestFriend: What can an Electronics Technician cross train to a different kind of occupation that has a brighter future?
I am getting very fed up as a long time Electronics Technician that can never find a good high paying job, so now I want to know what other areas can I cross train too. There is no respect for electronic repair techs anymore. Sucks! Thanks.

You could go back to school and a bachlor of science degree. Any formal degree will give you more respect and open doors. You could get your BS is Engineering. Remember Electrical Engineers start at 50,000 and can go a lot higher in design work.
