electronics?

Question by David: electronics?
Hello, can anybody help me with these questions?

a.) How many electrons make up a charge of -30 micro Coloumb?

b.)What is the repulsive electrical force between two protons in a nucleus that are 5 x 10-15 m apart from each other?

Best answer:

Answer by Madhukar Daftary
a)
Let x = no. of electrons
Charge of one electron = -1.6 x 10^(-19) C
-30 ?C = -30 x 10^(-6) C
=> x * [ -1.6 x 10^(-19) ] = – 30 x 10^(-6)
=> x = 1.875 x 10^(14)

b)
F = k[1.6 x 10^(-19)]^2 / r^2
= 9 x 10^9 [ 1.6 x 10^(-19)]^2 / [ 5 x 10^(-15) ]^2
= 9.216 N
