Amp’d Mobile Kyocera Jet
Amp’d Mobile has launched in the United States. After much timed planning the mobile virtual network operator (MVNO).
This MVNO network is running on Verizon’s CDMA EV-DO high speed network.
Amp’d Mobile started with the launch of only one phone the Kyocera Jet, then will be followed by the Motorola E815 which will be known as Hollywood early next year. Plans start as little as $29.99 USD all the way up to $200 USD. You can also add Push to Talk for only .99 cents a day. For $200 USD you get Unlimited Voice, Data, and PTT (Push to Talk).
Amp’d Mobile may have a very smart future because they will be targeting the youth market by offering MTV content. We know MTV is great with reaching youth, and as the fastest growing aread of cell usage, this is a great market.
Motorola V557 Cell Phone Review
As the first device to include Motorola’s SCREEN3 technology, the V557 provides an innovative approach to push information to consumers. Using a “ticker tape” that runs along the bottom of the phone’s home screen, the V557 takes advantage of Cingular’s Media Net Live Ticker service to push news, sports, entertainment, and other premium content and services. Information is presented to users with no buttons to push, and no browsers to launch.

Nintendo DS sales hit 5 million
Japanese sales of Nintendo DS portable game machine reached 5 million units in less than 13 months after its launch in early December 2004, the fastest-ever pace in Japan’s video game market, Nintendo said Monday.
Nintendo’s Game Boy Advance took 14 months to hit the 5 million mark in Japan, and Sony’s PlayStation 2 took 17 months, the Kyoto-based company said.
“Selling 5 million units in less than 14 months means DS is the fastest among any game machines ever launched in Japan to hit that level,” Nintendo President Satoru Iwata told a news conference.
“To achieve this rapid growth, we were required not only to go after frequent game players, but to reel back people who had left games and to make video games enjoyable for those who had not played games at all,” he added.
Nintendo of course is excited about the results of the Nintendo DS.
Netflix wins round in online DVD-rental fight
When the head of Netflix said rival Blockbuster threw “everything but the kitchen sink at us,” the world’s largest video-rental chain responded by sending him a kitchen sink.
The message from last January’s interchange was clear: Blockbuster, with $6 billion in 2004 revenue and 5,500 domestic stores, intended to own online DVD rental, an $8 billion industry pioneered by Netflix.
“This year was about Blockbuster taking a run at us,” Netflix Chief Executive Reed Hastings recently told Reuters at the company’s Beverly Hills offices. “They chopped price. They emptied their balance sheet.”
But despite Blockbuster’s costly offensive, Hastings said Netflix was on track for net subscriber additions of 1.5 million for 2005 for a total of 4.1 million–the midpoint of its target range.
Motorola PEBL Cell Phone

Motorola Pebl Cell phone review. Great looking new design for this cell phone. The design of this phone is a triumph for Motorola. Bottom line is:
It’s not the most feature-laden phone, but it’s one of the prettiest. The PEBL is another design triumph from Motorola.
Radiating mystery and intrigue, the understated elegance of the Motorola PEBL elevates mobile design to a new level. Created with a smooth oval form and innovative dual-hinge mechanism to open and close the device with one swift, delicate motion, this handset is a true mobile accessory. Its sophisticated look and feel are complemented by discreet hi-tech capabilities including video capture and playback, and Bluetooth® wireless technology. With chic simplicity, the subtly stylish Motorola PEBL adds a calming convenience to your everyday travels.
